What I do is set a defensive line with Apostles and Inquisitors on my borders when I'm getting spammed with opponents religious units. In my current game, Cleo is sending a lot of missionaries at me, they can't get past my defensive line, and each time one of her missionaries die, her religion...
I can never get the AI to trade relics or artifacts. I seem to recall I got a trade in my first couple of games, but now they all ask for ridiculous amounts of GPT as well. Last game with my BFF Hojo, he wouldn't trade. Art, Writings or artifacts. We both hated Vicky, were the sole survivors on...
Any time someone says 'anyone with a functioning brain' agrees with my OPINION, it makes me question the functionality of their brain. To offer your opinion is one thing, to say it is the only opinion is morose. My opinion; some bugs and imbalance made it through. It's Civ, it always does...
Had the same thing my last game. After he Surprise DOW'd me, I took most of his cities, Built wonders just to tweak him. After the second DOW, he was left in a small backwater city out on the tundra. I left him there to stew the rest of the game. He'd pop up to denounce me about every other...
I always have raging barbs on. upgraded scouts get returned home, and throw an early warrior into the build/buy mix. With Honor opener, the policies just rack up. And it forces me to build a defensive army. It also holds down runaway AIs as they have to defend also.
Ones I've used include; The Way, The Light, wisdom, knowledge, and Understanding. But I play a lot of science based games. I enjoy the pop-ups that say Lhasa wants Understanding.
I have seen a few I will have to try out now after reading the thread. Maybe the next will be "To Party.'
I've got 198 completed so far. I do show the 'Connoisseur; Rate a Mod' as completed. It shows a 1.4% completion rate. I do remember going after that one very early, as it seemed a cheap trophy.
I was going to open a thread on achievements asking how serious everyone was about completing the...
It's not like they put a special unit in the game for ads or something like that. A quick blurb on the opening menu? Not so much. I was a bit more concerned with the XCOM squad idea. Until I finally had a game that lasted that long and used them. They were kind of fun.
As for the advertising...
Most is going to come through learning as you play. Knowing all the options that will open up as the game progresses is critical. The best way I figure out what my cities are going to do is terrain dependent. For example; River, flood plains, high growth potential? I concentrate on engineers and...
My favorite map is the Earth Map. I play it often. But I use random second most often, as the poster above said explore and find out what there is. Huge, Epic, Raging Barbs. It really feels like carving an empire out of an unforgiving world. Turn off a time victory and tough it out.
I'll also...
