It seems to be broken for me. On the LateGameView test I just see 2 settlers standing on each side of a big sea, nothing happens, the camera doesn't move, I can only zoom in and out. After a while the shadows from the settlers detach from the units and get stuck in place on the screen. On...

I think the intro movies were covering up a loadscreen, so without them it still has to load the game. Only solution is to RAID SSDs :P

Are you sure? So you don't get the difference that's in my screenshots? It's quite subtle and easy to miss (just the bottom-left and top-left panels), but do you really not get any difference at all?

I really like the look of the new minimap, it's very clean and it has nice colors. It conveys the same information as the civ 4 map. The old map looked like it was designed by a programmer, the new one looks like someone really put some thought into the design.

That's truly an amazingly low resolution. You should always use your monitor's native resolution, and unless you're running on a netbook or something I doubt you're doing that. If you're not running in native resolution, the pixels of the game will not line up with the pixels of your monitor...
