[RD] German speakers: i need help with some words for a translation

That's tricky and depends on the context. It could mean prison/jail or it could mean construction side. It could also mean burrow for certain animals ( as you said ) . I think Kafka used intentional this ambiguous word, but it makes it difficult to translate this.

    Affordable Care Act

Those numbers are not necessarily a sign of abuse. Older people and people with chronic diseases causes higher costs. Sure, hypochondria exists - the question is how much do they really costs. In Germany we have up to 10€ per prescription. We also had 10€ per visit ( but only once in a quarter...

[RD] German speakers: i need help with some words for a translation

I don't know a better translation, but according to this article https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hungerkünstler a "Hungerkünstler" was a showman, who did not eat for a longer period of time in public as some sort of show. Those shows where some sort of popular between 1880 and 1920. Some maybe...

    "Insurance for everybody"

3 is not an unsolveable problem. http://www.howtogermany.com/pages/healthinsurance.html So premium is capped and additional you can opt out if you above this level and switch to a private insurance. However I know 2 people who did opted out, but now regret it. Because when you use this option...

    "Insurance for everybody"

Well maybe I am not 100% familiar with all therms, english is not my native language - but also Wiki mentioned this act from 1883 as beginning of universal healthcare https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_health_care more detailed for Germany...

    "Insurance for everybody"

Only 70 years? Here public health insurance was introduced in 1883 - by Otto von Bismark who was pretty much a right winger who hated socialist ( so it is not even a left vs right issue ). And I don't think Germany is the only country where this is already more then 100 years old - really hard...

    Russian hacking

Actually I was already referring to the discussion in Germany ( you already posted in the post I quoted ) - and you totally missed the point I don't buy the claim that Fake News, hacking or RT decided the election, and it will not decide the election in Germany. But for politician it is a...

What can the Democrats do to actually win elections again?

Well, with this argument, every dictator you get 99 % of all votes in "elections" is legitimized It does not only matter that someone got the most votes, also the how matters. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/wikileaks-emails-show-dnc-favored-hillary-clinton-over_us_57930be0e4b0e002a3134b05...

What can the Democrats do to actually win elections again?

Yep. Starting with fair and transparent primaries and not rigging them in favor of the most disliked candidate they could find comes to my mind here.

    Russian hacking

I bet against you. That is easy money. She can form a coalition with the SPD ( as currently ), FDP and even the green Party is a potential coalition partner. Her party is in polls15% ahead of the second strongest party which is her current coalition partner. And if something happens that make...

    Trump's statements and promises

That is ( intentional ? ) misleading. All what is claimed is, that Russia hacked the DNC server and gave those e-mails to wiki leaks. That is not the same as ""Russia hacked the election" - but thanks to this framing, now half of the Democrats think, Russia hacked the voting machines ...

    Major Flaws of Civ 6

Instead of excluding them, why not giving them the opportunity to become full civs? I made in an other thread the suggestion, that barbarian camps may become CS when left alone for long and the starting place is good. And that CS can become full civs after some time ( and maybe as a second...

    Major Flaws of Civ 6

One quick fix could be "make keeping large empires more difficult". Most empires based on rapid conquest fell apart almost as quick as they have been conquered . A mechanism like this is missing
