I continually settle new cities, never stop really. I generally keep the population of my cities limited to the amount of happiness they can produce. When I go to war, I just raze the cities I conquer and settle new ones in place.
With that said, different strategies call for different...
I've done a OCC cultural victory in the low 200's (turns) on Immortal with Siam. It depends heavily on your starting location and whether people want to declare war on you. Most time you can do without anyone wanting to declare war on you if your tech is far enough ahead.
Siam appears to be...
I'vebeen finding post patch that I've had an increase number of starts where I'm in range on 4+ resources. I always try to settle on a resource so normally I take up to 2-3 turns to move and settle. The last one I payed as Siam I settled near 5 silver and 1 gem and had the El Derado wonder like...
If we are purely worrying about 1000 beakers per turn as the goal and we aren't worried about early goals like a NC, then we can approach it quite a bit differently than we would normally. My strategy would be to expand early as you will need as much premium space as possible before the AI takes...
I'm actually thinking National College as well. The only exception is if your Babylon and you think you've got a good shot at getting the GL around turn 35 or so. But between GL and Stonehenge, I would normally take Stonehenge if your planning on keeping your initial city count low, but if your...
Missing the GL on Immortal doesn't mean hit the reset button, yeah you lose some turns which are valuable but there is a host of stuff we players can do further along to sway the game in our favor. Of course there are times where I am like well... if only I was there 5 turns early....
But to be...
So, is there anyway to influence a CS so that they get their nearby resource in a reasonable time frame? Seriously I've gotten messages from CS that were nearby "pearls" get it at around turn 200.
What the heck! That sucks. I've been building the Wat think I was getting the fully bonus, but it makes little sense to get both landed elite and the Wat then. Preferable that you get the Wat and save the policy for something else since the Wat, if you make it a goal is something you can get...
Staying ahead of the AI in terms of science isn't a issue with a small empire or Emperor or below. Just grow your capital as large as you can. Your first policy should be in tradition. I tend to get two workers as my city should be growing at a rate that exceeds the pace of my workers or at...
I stopped trying to steal workers along time ago, but now that you mention that I can build 3 scouts for 1 workers, I'm convinced that stealing workers it the right thing to do now. :)
I played the OCC quite a bit and I can win pretty much very time on Emperor. On Immortal its really inconsistent and I have to have the right start location (tile wise) and the right map location (neighbor wise).
Most time, the AI will leave you alone. I normally only keep 1-2 units around...
The GL is hit and miss, I would say they if you make the GL your priority you will get it 2 out 3 times. It also very conditional on whether to go for it or not. I basically have to have ideal conditionals, be able to settle on marble within a turn and still have the city with in tiles that will...
