King of the World #22: Gilgamesh

Ugh. I'm not dead yet. But this new-city job search has been eating up a lot of my free time. The round is played, and will probably be written up sometime tomorrow. Here's the save:

King of the World #22: Gilgamesh

Yeah, mistakes will be made when you can't sleep and play a round at four o'clock in the morning :p More Workers are definitely a priority. In my defense, those Workers started mining the Silver before I snagged those Gems from Ethiopia. I figured that raising the Happy cap empire-wide was a...

King of the World #22: Gilgamesh

The painful early days were past. The rude Sumerians had finally been transformed into an urban people, ready to expand their empire. With growth, obviously, comes such unpopular civics as Slavery. Our, ahem, peculiar institution incited revolts throughout Uruk. As Gilgamesh's personal guard...

King of the World #22: Gilgamesh

Good call on moving red. It loses the Plains Hill Copper (which should stay with purple anyway) but gains a plain old Plains Hill, so it's not a massive loss. And it gains a Sheep. The only problem I can maybe foresee is Culture wars with Greece. Though, if our plan is to take Greece out sooner...

King of the World #22: Gilgamesh

How does this look for a dotmap? Consensus seems to be Purple for the second city, followed by maroon and green to establish borders? Then backfill with red and blue to flesh out my core? What do you all think?

King of the World #22: Gilgamesh

Bah. Nocho's right. The King of the World is an idiot sometimes. Yeah, we're Creative, so that makes 2N of the Copper even more inviting, though that hill spot lymond mentioned also looks good, at least in the medium term.

King of the World #22: Gilgamesh

Gilgamesh, God-King of the Ancient Sumerians, had awoken too early. The world still lay encased in ice. Harsh snows occasionally reached as far south as the equatorial deserts where he had lain himself to rest in anticipation of rising to lead his people. Gilgamesh glanced at his unfathomable...

King of the World #11: Darius I

Yeah, but Sitting Bull was 19th Century and Pacal was born well into the AD's. My point is, there were a Korean and a Japanese people before the beginning of the common era. If the specific leaders tied to the Civs were a cheat, so be it.

King of the World #22: Gilgamesh

Yeah, I think we can discuss who's out there. The roster is shown on the leader select screen, and, while exact location may be unknown, I imagine general regions are gonna be pretty consistent.

King of the World #22: Gilgamesh

DT has it right. The Warrior has been moved, so that option isn't available to us, at least not without spending another turn. The landlocked capital idea 1NE does seem to have merit, though I worry about initial Health problems...

The King of the World Throne Room

Thanks. That's the one. The new game is up.

King of the World #22: Gilgamesh

Round 0: Older than Ancient (18000 B.C.) Round 1: The Lay of the Land (18000-17100 B.C.) Round 2: Cuneiform in a Linear Empire (17100-15150 B.C.) Greetings, all, and welcome! The King of the World series is played on Earth maps, sacrificing exploration for realistic scenarios and blah, blah...

The King of the World Throne Room

Arright, Ice Age Gilgamesh it is. I'm ready to start the game, but I have one (silly) question before I do: Does anyone remember which interface mod I was using before? Y'know, the one that showed AI relations on the main screen, divided up the progress bars for techs and such, and all that? I...

The King of the World Throne Room

Okay. So it sounds like there's a lot of support for Ice Age, and, honestly, it sounds kind of cool to me, too. So who would you like to see? I'm kind of leaning Gilgamesh, myself...

The King of the World Throne Room

So the King of the World series is, once again, up for grabs. What do you all want to see? Another stab at E1000? A leader-hopping RFC? Divine Intervention? Something more mundane? I'm itching to get back into the swing of things!
