They definitely need a patch that fixes getting things like rifles in a classical era, but ninja archers should definitely stay in. That's a sweet ass bonus.
Agreed! It's cute and clean to just see the name of save, but this is one of those things that should be an option. Even an option for the old save style, where it lists the leader/civ name and the in-game date would be nice.
I see what you're saying, but sometimes games at higher difficulty levels in IV were nigh impossible if you couldn't build a couple of the wonders pertinent to your strategy/gambit and I didn't like how games could fall apart almost instantly because of a lack of a wonder.
Then again, higher...
Agreed. When I said I wouldn't mind new videos, I was actually kind of thinking of not videos, but more like a slow moving version of their paintings. Because I can't put what I'm thinking into words that well right now, I hesitated to say it, but maybe you know what I'm getting at.
Actually, that was big deal for me in IV. I loved golden ages in IV, and would often try to time them for periods I was getting ready for war or, most often, right when I was done with war. A massive civics overhaul was usually in order, followed by many turns of rapid reconstruction and tech...
I don't miss the movies too much, though I wouldn't mind new ones. But the wonders themselves, while downplayed compared to IV, seem to fit into the world a bit better. Honestly, you could feel the world tip over in IV when wonders were built sometimes.
I wouldn't mind if they made a little...
I haven't made it to 2050 yet and I don't know if there's a way to disable that time cut off, but at least your civ's story sounds epic.
Can the time victory be shut off, anyone?
I don't think the player should be privy to all that information, but I think the player should be allowed to ask another leader what he/she thinks of other leaders and if that leader cares to he/she can answer.
IMO, Civ V has a great new take on diplomacy. Old issues of trade and open borders seem to carry new significance due to the mechanics of the resources and the way combat works. I love the idea of secret packs, shared research, and diplomatic cooperation. I enjoy the new presence and dynamic...
Fortunately, they shouldn't become longbows anytime soon. I'm going to kill them off before they even get close to that level.
Honestly, that's kind of what I'm hoping. Catapults will take everyone down a few notches, horsemen will wipe out the archers, swordsmen will clean up what's left...
Yeah, copper isn't too hard to come by and the Dogs are definitely less effective against archers, but I think decreasing the STR by 1 and increasing the percentage against melee by another 50 percentage points is a pretty big deal (and there are times where there is no copper around!). If...
See, I always forget about the amphibious elephants. Those bastards.
Because of my inability to expand thanks to S.Bull, there's little time to wait in my mind. Playing a slower game, I have it in my mind to secure the whole area as soon as possible in order to secure my civilization's place...
Yeah, there is one direction I could go for expanding, but it's way out of the way and a lot of it is freaking desert and mountains (good natural barriers though). S. Bull is sitting on some nice land that would be a major boon to have now. Getting him out of the way means guaranteeing myself...
