IMHO, 20K people means about 40-160 villages with each village having 500-125 people. Much smaller than that and it is not worth it. I think I can see enough land for 40-160 villages to look upon my giant tower of thickness, cower in despair for the fact that mine is always bigger than theirs, and offer their allegiance.

So... well... what is your objection to us being elected as Regent? We are a great noble House, quite as good and qualified to rule as anyone else, certainly more so than Klorin, for example, even if we have only got the one sceptre. We have just as much experience as any of you Majors in government; you forget that Jyut Texier ran the Eye perfectly ably before the last elections, and thus has plenty of practice to be Regent. You can see from the thread that we are active, and we played a crucial and active role in getting that canister that turned out to be full of vaccine off E2. We managed our fiefs during the plague exceptionally ably. In the last three years, we've shown ourselves just as competent as any Major House.

How could we possibly be better equipped, as a Minor House, to hold the Regency?
