Nit picking? This game is so broken, probably one of the worst games I ever played. Nothing makes any sense. Too bad that economy has nothing to do with "winning" the game, you don't any need economy at all...

It depends, city which has library, university, observatory, etc will generate more beakers, while city with grocer, market, bank, etc will generate more gold.

Since Joao is your main threat, hit him first, especially if you share borders. He's also known as a backstabber, he'll probably attack you when least expected (may even bribe Ragnar to tag along). Carefully pick which cities to attack first, because of his strong culture his cities will be hard...

Check your graphic card settings, AA and stuff...if they're set to fixed values try to set them to 'application controlled'.

This is usefull if you place page file on a separate hard drive, if you have single hard disk it's best to keep page file on system partition.

I would disagree, not all leaders try to club you right away. I play on 18 civ maps and fight alot and from my observations Mansa, Catherine, Frederick, Gilgamesh, etc. are not so careless to group all units in one SoD. More often they'll advance in several groups or wait for you to make a move...

Standard speed is way too fast for my taste, frenzy pace, feels like I'm missing all the fun. Prefer 18 civs on standard size maps because all the action starts very early, diplomacy is important from the very start of the game.
