MoO2 has no real successor. I was hoping that Final Frontier, the mod that got out with BtS, would evolve to something worthy but the development stopped. Hence MoO2 is the best 4X game in space ever. On top of that I also like to come back to M.A.X., the truest strategy I have ever seen...

As far as I know the conversion to Office 2007 was done cause the old office did not have the required column number so you probably wont be able to 'save as' in the old format. That is not a bug in the converter, the files are just incompatible. :/

FfH civ mod was based on a AD&D campaign that Kael was running. The 'setting' is his own creation.

Also find on this forum Shatners thread about his epic game as the Amurieties, 'Revenge of the Nerds' or something like that, were he, for the whole game(!), was allowed only to build adepts and other arcane units. Many, me included, have tried this chalange with great success.

One thing you may consider adding: High Priests of Winter lose the spell that lets them drag a blizzard as Priests of Winter. IMO they should retain it.

What about the elfs? Does he get the Dexterous or the dark elves one trait?
