Did Firaxis Hint at Post-BNW Content in the Recent Polycast?

Let's be real folks. If this truly was Civilization from day 1 you'd have Maygars, Khmer, Chinese, Sumerian, Akkadian, Scythian, Goth, Gaul, Celt, Anazi, Native American(generic), not ones built on todays actual civilizations. Concentrate on wonders that create useful items, units, buildings...

Do you learn history from Civ V?

Not really. I've taught history(World-American) in High School, graduate taught Ancient history as a GA in college and read it and traveled forever, and I have played Civ since it first was avaiable on a MAC. But the game has many good factors, but is a bit off setting in order to make it a game.

    No medieval wars *sigh*

"The French has not spoken to me, but the Americans have offered me a DoF. I guess it was the French who wanted the war and used the Americans as hired guns." What else is new. I have noticed that the AI likes spoiling attacks the minute your unit numbers get below a certian point.

    Favorite Civs?

Shoshone are great, but it seems that science and production suffer in relation to other Civs. For war I play America, face it people we invented modern warfare during the civil war. Rome needs buffing- construction and road building in particular in order to be historically accurate.

    Fall patch

Horse mounted barbarian-archers like the Mongols, Samaritans etc., Modern era- cultural like corporations- Coke, Levi, Wal-mart. Points and quick spreading. Help your trade income. One thing I'd like to see is barbarians take, sack and settle cities. Barbarians did just that in real history...

Brave New World - The Final Four

While Venice was a economic powerhouse in the 13-16 Century, the Papal State was more expansionist. Rome with a built in Religion and diplomatic bonus would have been interesting. I'm digging out my rattle and spear and going Shoshone. Good addition.

    Civ 5/Steam:Offline Mode Question

No way in hell will I ever buy a game that REQUIRES me to be on the internet. Guess it's CIV IV for the rest of life.

    Civ V a step backward?

The changes in the game smell like an attempt to produce a revenue producer for the developers and not a new or improved game. They've been infected by Paradox. I'll wait until the game is out for a bit.

    Will it be steam based?

 There are a great many of us who have little or no access to Steam or other internet based systems due to our locations or extremely slow phone based systems. I've already passed on several games I would have normally bought because of that requirement. The PC gaming industry is killing...

    Civ 5 Confirmed Features

Would be nice to see real "root Civs" in the game. Sumeria, Akkad, Scythian Herders etc.. Then as you grow you can branch out and pick a leader to flavor your civilization. NONE of the Civilizations mentioned began as Civ's, except Egypt. Mycenean, Minoan, Hittite, Hurrian, Olmec, these are root...
