I apologize for having missed the part with the example about the two warriors -
I really thought final odds aren't linearly dependent on strength...
If this is the case, i.e., Sid's example is really the mechanism it is applied in the game then I fully have to agree with you.
But anyway, you...
I voted possibly despite having the feeling it's hopeless...
I must admit, I was looking forward to 1UPT with so much anticipation, but when it came to play I just noticed it's not feasible for the scale a Civ game has.
A tactical warfare on a strategic map - i don't know - for me it's a...
You're mixing up odds with strength!
Sure strength of a unit has a major influence on odds. i guess 3 times the STRENGTH would result in much better ODDS than 3:1.
Same for me, i really tried to like it...
After achieving all types of victories there was...JUST NOTHING! No impulsion to play again, to enhance tactics to vary playstyle.
I can only speak for myself, but if those feelings aren´t triggered the game is only medicore and even worse for a cIV...
Yay! Glad to hear that it's only a well deserved vacation!
I too suffered, that you abandoned the mod. But now I´m looking relaxed and patiently forward to it.
:goodjob:
Definitely NO! I don't feel like spending anymore effort or money in this game.
18 civilizations are plenty for me, for I'm not varying that much between them.
Unfortunatly things turned out like i guessed...
I get an AppCrash around 14th century, when merging RFC E/M with the VDstyles.
I don´t have the complete errormessage at hand, but was someting like:
AppCrash
Civ4BeyondSword.exe
0000005c
Tried first to reload a couple of former...
I´m just about to try this modmod for the first time and unfortunatly
I experience a problem with citystyles, when i follow your instructions above to merge VD with RFC E/M.
The city buildings are random (e.g., aztec style buildings in european citys) and the textures are messed up.
Is there...
Is there a mod for Civ IV to handle strategic resources analogous to CiV?
That every resource on the map has a value for an amount (e.g., 4 iron/iron you connect to your tradenetwork) and that these resources are consumed by building a unit/building?
I voted D, no use of discussing the "good and not so good" of CiV again, it has been done numerous times now.
The fact is, for ME i can't take a fancy to it, it is first Civ sequel which doesn´t induce the magical "just one more turn..." feeling.
Still i have hopes, that it´ll change after...
The reviews on Amazon.de are even more devastating for CiV (compared to civ IV):
Civ 4 Civ 5
5 star 71 | 5 star 23
4 star 17 | 4 star 18
3 star 17 | 3 star 17
2 star 19 | 2 star 37
1 star 39 | 1 star 56
