Colonies IV makes a curtain call

Well, this is weird! All of the normal options under the Game menu are available to play with (Game, City Report and so on) but the Graphics Options, while not greyed-out, does not activate when selected. Either with the mouse or with Ctrl-P. Again, with all the other scenarios on my PC I do not...

Colonies IV makes a curtain call

Thanks, John. (Only just re-checked on this thread after submerging myself in Medieval Millennium over Christmas....) However, I have tried checking that box (it was originally checked anyway) and launching the scenario, and also un-checking it and re-launching. Either way, the active unit does...

    Medieval Millennium release thread

My two penny-worth is that I like the Plague events, damn frustrating as they are... It gives a good "medieval" experience, and the AI gets them too, so its fair. The vast money-pit that is the Peasant Militia "recruitment" scam is another matter. Not so medieval I think. :mischief: John

    Medieval Millennium release thread

No problem, Knighttime. Indeed, I had rather lost track of this thread and <stupid mode> assumed you hadn't replied to me because I kept looking at page #1 and hadn't refreshed! </stupid mode> Anyway, my Christmas was excellent thanks, all things viral considered. Hope yours was too. I attach...

    Medieval Millennium release thread

@Knighttime, An excellent mod - really re-invigorates the original civ experience for me. For me, the game played faultlessly up to around 1100 AD. Then a small bug seemed to happen in the events file that caused the lua console to spring up every time I selected one of my units. Happy to post...

Colonies IV makes a curtain call

Thanks for doing this. Can you tell me why the active unit does not flash, though? Makes it hard to play. Is there a setting at my end I ought to change? (The Graphic options - Ctrl-P - don't seem to be active)

Thanks very much, sir! I'll have a quick run through later this week....

Colonies IV makes a curtain call

Thank you. I think STC might be the next. I have already re-worked some of the techs for some better outcomes. I am playing the TOT conversion (gapetit's I think) now, and it looks simply stunning!

    Modified Scenarios Workshop

Thank you, Sir! I'll do that in my copy - but the version modified by gapetit - well, it's up to him, really. He did the hard work of the conversion and I wouldn't put him to the trouble of re-compiling the pack and re-issuing it for such a small thing that can be so easily altered. Maybe just a...

    Modified Scenarios Workshop

As the scenario author, I have to agree that the conversion is graphically perfect! Well done, and thanks. (Is it Fairline who did the unit graphics?) I have been playing through it the last couple of evenings. One thing that doesn't work the way it should is the stackable squares: the idea with...

Colonies IV makes a curtain call

Thanks, guys. I'll have to check those out now as well. And I have to congratulate you on your fabulous graphics work, Fairline. That alone seems to make my old scenarios worth revisiting (at least for me). I am happy with the way my makeover of Colonies IV worked out (see the top of this...

Thanks again for the steer. That will now be my next task, once I have had a good taste of what Napoleon can show me....

Colonies IV makes a curtain call

John, I was hoping someone would say something like that! I want to try out some of the best ToT scenarios first, so I can see what tricks are available and what others might be available with a bit of lateral thinking. Then I need to judge if any of my old scenarios could benefit from such...

Colonies IV makes a curtain call

It's good to be back! :D I was playing STC recently, as it happens. It would certainly be the next scenario of mine up for a makeover - but maybe I should uplift it to ToT first and use some of the new features there? I am investigating what ToT/lua can achieve and if I see a good reason to use...
