    Reclaim territory from city states?

Is it possible to reclaim territory peacefully from city states (and other civs) via any game mechanism. Eg. in Civ 4 tiles would flip depending on the dominant culture of that tile. Reason is I have a nice city site but a couple of resources in its sphere have already been claimed by city...

Coveting of land getting out of hand?

Seriously? If the boot was on the other foot, wouldn't you be irked that your only neighbour had found you. You're just annoyed that you can't already exploit Greece to get ahead, ultimately conquering them and moving on to bigger and better things. ... which is pretty accurate human despotic...

Can you choose the founding city of a religion?

I've found that by pop rushing in certain cities, or by spreading another religion to all but one of my cities, I can influence where the holy city of religion X is founded. But has anyone delved deeper and discovered the mechanics of holy city foundation? I've attached my save game (BtS...

    CIV for luinux

It's been a while since I played Civ 4 on linux (got Vista) but I had warlords working using Cedega. I hear now that WINE has better support so maybe use that (WINE is free, Cedega isn't). A few graphical glitches but nothing serious.

How to change save game location?

Title says it all - Civ 4 and expansion packs store their save games in C:\Users\<name>\Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword\ but I want to store them in C:\Users\<name>\Saved Games\Beyond the Sword\ and I would like it to be automatic! Any ideas? ps. OS is Vista

    New Research Idea

i think its a good idea too, but how would the AI cope? Human players would make better decisions on tech choice I think and ultimately this would make the game easier. But in multiplayer definitely!

    Can't build cathedrals?

can't check at the moment but when you say you can't build even one cathedral does this mean you don't have any? You should be able to build 2 hindu mandirs.

    Most (& Least) Important Resources

i think food resources are by far the most important. Food can be converted into both shields (pop rushing) and cash (specialists). That makes corn, rice, wheat, fish, clams, crabs and deer slightly more valuable than pigs, cows, sheep, since the former require one tech and the latter require two.

    Linux

Beam is right, Cedega 6.0 and Ubuntu Edgy or Feisty work Civ 4 and Warlords with only minor issues. (eg. Ctrl keys don't work, some 3rd party mods don't work). While Ubuntu is free, Cedega costs &#163;5 per month but you only need download it once. It doesn't stop working after a month!

    New Wonders Discussion Thread

agree with Uberness - with a 100% yield from chopping, a player will chop everything (rather than wait for lumbermills) leaving himself with no trees. Which is basically what happened in real life. I don't see the sense in having a negative effect from a wonder cause no-one would build it!

I've almost finished my first scenario as Chinese unification and its been a blast!
