    Quick Questions / Quick Answers

Will the AI ever go Progress + Authority, or is it locked into picking one of the 3 era policy trees each time? Its so strong for aggressive wide playstyle, feels like the AI should at least consider it.

Attacked by 20 units on Settler difficulty

a big part of the game is making the correct early decisions. If you see Askia and Poland around you, you should probably be going Authority yourself to fight off aggression from Askia, and/or rush Poland before they get too strong. Tradition requires you to have lands that are very easy to...

How many civs do you play as?

On Deity, how you are playing sounds common. Tradition requires a strict set of starting requirements in order to win at that difficulty. However, if you get the right start, it can be insanely strong, which is why you can't really buff it. Try Progress into Authority, or Authority into...

Is Tall Tradition "Too Brittle" - an analysis

Venice with Arsenal of Venezia is a pretttyy unique Tradition play though. I agree that experience of army is a big issue, and I feel like adding supply limit goes against what you should expect from Tradition, which is a smaller but more advanced army with more advanced defenses. I'm still...

Is Tall Tradition "Too Brittle" - an analysis

it’s nice to play this way sometimes, after playing authority/progress where each turn takes 15 minutes to manage all your cities and units. You could include Great General Points from Barbarians in the Justice policy. -It fits with the theme of the Policy, makes the choice between...

How many civs do you play as?

I usually hit random, play a game with a civ, if I found them fun/interesting, play another with them with better planning. Then back to random.

Is policy tradition okay as is?

There are just stricter start requirements in order to get Tradition going (growth tiles around capital, defensible position, good luxury yields, production). Your change seems like a way to make Tradition viable for any start. I love playing Tradition, but realize that Civ is a game of...

(5-CP) Rebalance Ancient Ruins and Disallow Non-Recon Units Picking Them Up

Yes.. I agree. But aren’t you saying that the tile growth ruin is harmful to Russia/America? I’m unclear on how the tile growth ruin works in relation to Russia/America UA. @Hokiefan00 says that it is treated as natural tile growth, so it seems like it would be even better for Russia...

(5-CP) Rebalance Ancient Ruins and Disallow Non-Recon Units Picking Them Up

You are increasing the likelihood of Russia/America getting every other ruin type, AND helping utilize their unique ability. In Byzantium’s case, you are decreasing the likelihood of them getting every other ruin type in exchange for supporting their unique ability. Also, is a tile ruin...

AI voting behaviour for Global Hedgemony

I just played through this scenario. I was Babylon and Netherlands was ~10 votes away from Global Hegemony, but in my case Netherlands actually got enough to get the win. Myself and Netherlands were Freedom, and everyone else was Order. I knew it was possible for AI to vote for another Civ...

    Quick Questions / Quick Answers

Yes, all cities will grow to a 5 tile radius eventually. The capital is only unique if you go Tradition, which allows you to work a 4 tile radius (+1 from other cities), but the capital will still only grow to 5 tile radius

Anyone else feels like capturing city is hard and boring?

In my most recent game, I dropped 2 atomic bombs on one city in a turn and still couldn't capture it with my Paratrooper the same turn. That was a bit annoying. I've resigned myself to playing Tradition and just turtling because city capture and microing units all day is a slog.
