It might be those funky Monk units. I know that they are the only ones that can detect Ninjas. It is possible that they prevent them from attacking cities as well.

I agree with the space race points made here. It's almost impossible to wage a modern war because the space race takes away most of the modern era. Unless you are into espionage and want to keep destroying your opponent's rocket modules, which can get quite expensive...

Let's just hope they don't fix combat in the same way they fixed RNG / Corruption. I agree that a preference is in order. That way, we can kep the other good changes from the patch (corruption, gpt) and turn this off if it unbalances the game.

I deleted the conquests to, along with all of the new artwork and that pesky executable file that the installer put on my hard disk. On an unrelated note, for some reason, my copy of conquests doesn't seem to be working...

Well, it is a bug in that Firaxis has announced that they are working on a patch to fix the problem. See the front page of this site for details.

You're misinformed. The FP bug is real. Building the FP in a remote part of your empire can substantially increase the corruption of cities close to your capital. I've seen cities go from 1 shiled corruption to 80% corruption, just because I built the FP on the other side of my continent...
