You're welcome. That double martial law really caught me off-guard, so I wanted to warn you.
I guess the "bonus" for puppeting is just more health, I didn't notice any other bonus. Annexing is my default now, only puppeting when I would drop too low in health too quickly.
I'm still having a blast. The game was definitely pushed out the door too early, but I truely love the Sci Fi theme, the lore and most of the innovations. I finished 10 games so far, but have yet to try out the ARC and the African Union. I'm current 105 turns into my 2nd Slavic Federation...
1 or 2 Affinity levels by turn 100 is definitely too low on Apollo (assuming normal game speed). My best guess is that you're being overly expansionistic early on, neglecting both your science and your military. This makes you a primary target for the AI because they (usually) dislike your rapid...
Thanks. I actually also love some of the entries for "normal" buildings and technologies.
The Supremacy special buildings show a really interesting, if slightly worrying way of humanity slowly being more and more intertwined with AI and artifical bodies until they become full-on cyborgs. It's...
I really wish they would change "can't trade my capital" to "can't trade my original capital". Not being able to get the city that you want out of a peace deal because it semi-randomly became the capital after you or someone else took the original is just infuriating. No, I don't want those 3...
I haven't played as Africa or ARC yet (even though I won 10 games already, one of them on Apollo). The obvious first: Brasilia's bonus sucks because it's only melee strength when it should have been melee + range strength, imho, because 10% is noticable, but not overpowered. Extra...
Did you annex or puppet Freeland, couldn't quite make it out on the screen (but I think I didn't see the puppet icon) ?
I've you've played CiV (which I assume), pro tip: Don't assume that puppeting and annexing will work exactly the same in Beyond Earth, it doesn't !
If you puppet a city first...
I have 2 favorite quotes:
Supremacy 18:
"All previous versions of humanity will no longer be supported as of this update."
- Registry Update 40000.b595135.omega
Crawler (Wonder):
"John Henry smiled at the Crawler and he said: 'Sure, you can move a lot of dirt, but let's see who gets to to...
To be fair, I think you're a bit of an outliner here compared to the average player who might not have played a Civ game before in his/her life, not discuss/read strategies in forums etc. I mean: Your sig tells me that you actually do special challenges during your Deity Let's Plays - that seems...
The AI seems quite city spammy in my games, even on Mercury - guess it depends on a lot of factors, including starting position, the sponsor etc. I've even gotten forward-settled on quite often.
The Ultrasonic Fence quest also is a factor. I've had several games where it took over 5-7 turns to pop and I was quite worried it might be bugged. Getting trade routes started without it is usually truely awful, and that's with me wiping out all aliens on sight whenever possible.
Well, I personally feel like PAC and the KP play a lot differently from the "tech sponsors" aswell.
PAC lets you actually grab quite a few good wonders on higher difficulties and lets you improve a ton of tiles with relatively few workers, which just feels great, imho.
The KP let you grab...
Your score is (primarily ?) based on the ingame score of your colony. Longer games and Domination victories usually lead to higher scores than more focused, streamlined, shorter games on higher difficulties.
Well, I kind of disagree. Franco-Iberia played a lot different for me from PAC or the KP.
Also: Please give some actual examples how you liked the different sponsors and what starting setups you went with. This thread isn't meant to be about "are the sponsors diverse enough ?" (although I can...
