Unlikely. I have a 4850+ with 2GB RAM and an ATI 4770 512 MB and ran a small map with medium settings in HD resolution. Performed pretty good until the middle ages, then it began to slow down quite a bit. With DX9 I might add.
Default game, Egyptians (or possibly Aztecs), standard map, GO!
Explore or all the new features, take it pretty easy, peaceful game to get the hang of it.
True! The introduction of city-states presents some very exciting possibilities. Medieval Europe, Holy Roman Empire, maybe semi-independent colonies in the Americas. Could prove to be very cool.
