I've wondered this too. Naming units would certainly help me keep track of them a little better, and perhaps prevent me from using them as cannon fodder as often as I do.

Something tells me Civ 6 won't be called Civ 6. They'll probably take the reboot route and just call it "Civilization" or something.

I find the theme/UI has a very optimistic feel, as though your people are always looking forward to the future. It's better than any previous Civ game, imo. My only complaint was that they didn't include any solid stats (presumably so you didn't know the AI was cheating) but infoaddict fixes that.

I play Tropico 4, Sim City 4, Transport Tycoon, and I'm attempting to develop my own web based strategy game very similar to Civ V, but more suited to my own tastes.

I do this all the time. The AI always seems to end up hating me regardless... so I don't see why I shouldn't.

I've been offered 78 gold to open my borders by neighbors who had denounced me, and both times it was because they wanted to move troops through my territory to go attack another civ. It may have just been coincidence that it happened both times, though.

Don't automate them. Approach a few barbarian camps with a ranged unit and take the camps after a ranged attack.

This is a very solid idea.

I always invade India and the Iroquois whenever I get the chance because they tend to grow like a cancerous tumor throughout the game.

Because Fireaxis was too lazy and/or inept to code actual decent AI so they just decided to make it cheat.
