    You'd probably need to make a unique unit identical to the ranger that is available earlier. I'm not sure about how to start with them right from the beginning, but if you give the civ a unique Palace that spawns two of your unique rangers when built then that would give you them upon founding...

    Edit: I just noticed that you were asking about a leader, rather than a civ. I honestly have no idea if you can set a start bias for a leader rather than a civ, but the same thing kind of applies - it doesn't really matter where the sql goes, as long as it has the right instructions in it...

    I've got a UU that can be built just fine and functions perfectly well as an ordinary melee unit, but the ability doesn't appear to be working. The intention was for it to give adjacent units +5 combat strength (value to be decided once it works). I honestly have no idea what I'm doing wrong...
