[NFP] History Simulator or Game: Civ's precarious balancing act

Personally, I get really invested in the early/mid game of Civ, but tend to get frustrated and lose interest in the late game when victory is obvious but there's still a very long clock to run out. In Civ VI usually by about the time you hit the industrial era the snowball has started, and for...

[NFP] History Simulator or Game: Civ's precarious balancing act

In my opinion Historical accuracy doesn't mesh with the Civ series, if that's what you want you need a game targeted to a specific era. A game that runs from 5000BCE to 2050AD, will generate a completely random world to a variety of specifications, and you go into the game as Abraham Lincoln and...

    Quick Questions and Answers

Thanks, I'll either give that a try or wait for the new leader pass to see if it changes anything. Is there any effect from what game options from the last DLC bundle you enable?

    Quick Questions and Answers

Maybe not so simple a question, but as I consider returning for another round what's the status with mods in Civ VI? When I gave it a try a year ago things were terrible. I could be wrong but from what I was able to piece together there's a entity limit in the game and with all the random...

Does anybody really use Forts anymore?

Speaking of Military Engineers, what the hell is Montezuma doing here? This is a game on Emperor difficulty, a couple mods but nothing that should effect AI. I'm going for a domination victory here and the Aztecs are the top competition with a science edge, but I've only come across maybe...

    Gedemo's civilizations

Just an FYI, but none of your civs seem to work with the Moar Units mod. When trying to start a game with any of your civs + MU enabled durnig map generation before the leader screen would come up it would jump back to the main menu.

Horrible "Actual" effects on some buildings?

Yeah I've been dragging this game out for a few days, but I went ahead and built the buildings anyways and my cities didn't suddenly start starving. Didn't really check the actual effect though, gets kind of hard to micromanage these things when you're empire gets that big. And I was wondering...

Horrible "Actual" effects on some buildings?

Okay I've attached a save file, note that I'm using the expanded Civs addon mod. The Viking cities I'm zoomed in on are good examples as they have both the international port and the food processing plant available to build. Also In Nidaros the actual result from the plant is -11, while in...

Horrible "Actual" effects on some buildings?

I've just recently got back into Civ IV and am new to this mod, it has that nice little feature where it shows what the actual effects are actually going to do. However, it makes some buildings that always seem to appear at the top of the recommended build appear utterly broken. I was browsing...

    AI+

It shouldn't be your mod that's doing this, I saw this as well in a game I just finished where the only AI mod I'm using is Quo's Fewer AI Tantrums. This is a game that I started before the official patch, then it got patched half way through so I don't know if it was there before or if it was...

    MOAR Units Mod

I was playing a game as England with this, and I had no upgrade path to Redcoats. I'm not sure how the order is supposed to go with vanilla England, but with this mod enabled Mustketmen upgraded straight to Riflemen, while Redcoats could only be trained.

    games on large maps

I'm not sure how much this is a factor, but anyone else notice that city state count is locked in at 1.5 city states per 1 civ? So for every two civs added to the game you get an extra 3 city states. And if you're playing on a map and you cut out two civs, you're also cutting 3 city states from...

    AI Diplomacy deals is broken

Actually what was going on with vanillia Civ V is the AI would do a simply army size score check and make their offer regardless of any other considerations... and apparently cities weren't giving much weight at the time. Didn't really matter what was going on, if the score checks didn't align...

    Favorite City States?

I'm impartial to Valetta because I've gotten them pretty much every game (system specs force me to play on small maps) and I always get religion. Pretty amazing when you get a good 200-300+ faith output going.

    Dale's Religious Units Border Control

There's an unintended consequence with this mod: open borders block applies to city states who you don't have suzerain status with. Sucks when they give you the religious conversion quest.
