I have also noticed this with Spain in my current game. I don't think it's specific to any Civilisation and only started to happen after purchasing Gathering Storm.
In all my time on this site, this is the first time I've had to go looking for customisation options to get rid of the default setting (thanks for the heads up guys!). I think the combination of colours (on a PC at least) are too bright and too bold.
I started with Civ II in the late 90s (on the Playstation :D ), and have played III, IV and V. (I also have BE, but haven't played it much - just can't get into it) I'm really looking forward to the features they've announced thus far. Really hoping for a lot of depth and immersion from day one.
I always play Epic. The only thing I don't like about Marathon is the fact it takes so much longer to build anything, which to me kinda defeats the point of having the longer eras. I hope Civ VI has a game speed that ONLY increase tech research (with the exception of builders maybe).
Let the hype begin!
I'm so glad they've added more flexibility with regards to units occupying tiles. I also like the art style (and this is coming from someone who took a long time to transition from Civ3 to Civ4 graphics-wise). It'll be interesting to see what it looks like zoomed out.
I agree with this. It would be really interesting to have a random chance to 'discover' an alien faction as the game progresses, in a similar manner. It could vary from game to game whether they chose to coexist with you or are openly hostile.
I will pre-order a few weeks before release if I like what I've seen thus far. That way I get the 'trinkets' when I was going to buy the game anyway.
Collector's Editions are a bit different, of course.
1. Medieval
2. Renaissance
3. Industrial
4. Ancient
5. Classical
6. Modern
There is something about those chants that I find relaxing and a joy to listen to.
Well, I have just spent the last hour or so reading all 14 pages of this thread, and have to say I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Great story thus far Pacifist. :D
Nice idea, I often do this without thinking to some degree. Like founding Christianity as Rome, or Taoism as China, or trying to get the early 'marble wonders' as Greece.
But then I don't play this game to 'Win'.
At the moment I actively play Civ 4 and World of Warcraft, though my interest in WoW has been somewhat limited recently.
As for games I own, my collection isn't that big, but I do have a few that have already been mentioned such as Neverwinter Nights (played for 2 - 3yrs), a lot of C&C titles...
