So, after having played after around 10 games of Civ 6, my conclusion is . . .

No reason a powerful AI couldn't be developed from the data of multi-player games. It would require Firaxis making allowances for a custom AI to play. It would require multi-player consent to record sessions. This would provide the data to train the basic AI. It would also require the game to...

    [GS] That Black Death Scenario...

Three things that changed history were "Guns, Germs, and Steel". We have the guns and the steel. Old World "European" vs New World civs were a crush due to the combination of the three. Not to mention European settlers being wiped out by a combination of lightly armed warriors and tropical...

    [GS] Civ VI lacks tension

CounterPlay: Disease: Units: Shamans, Healers, Plague Doctors, Witch-Doctors/Chaplains (Apostles) Buildings: City Center: Healing Tents all the ways up to Hospitals. Sewers Techs: Antibiotics, Sanitation, Vaccines, Genetics Diplomatic: Closed borders Policies: Quarantine, Abolition (decrease...

[GS] Have you avoided Global Warming?

Haven't seen the Global Warming stuff yet.. I play Massive map, King, Rome. Dominate before the AI gets to build power plants and you are good to go. Gives the whole race extra tension.

    [GS] Civ VI lacks tension

Late Game expansion feature seems obvious: Multi-Maps: Solar System Map Moon Map Mars Map Think of the "Expanse" as someone won a Diplomatic Victory on Earth and is now trying to colonize the other planets. Also, these are not original ideas. Thank you CivIV C2C mod for paving the way.

    [GS] Civ VI lacks tension

I think a few "features" could help the mid-game grind: 1. Disease - Big cities were ravaged over and over by various plagues, slowing or stopping growth. Stopping trade. Trade routes spreading disease etc. Like the new scenario "Black Death" Entire Civs could be wiped out. Like IRL...

So they still haven't fixed the AI with regard to war.

Agree with the quotes above. I think a sufficiently powerful AI playing Civ 6 against itself over and over again could make combat very challenging. I assume you would start with simply combat and work up to the resource management, but reading and watching some of the things that the AI's...

So they still haven't fixed the AI with regard to war.

I think that's the issue. It would be an interesting Mod, but I think the Game Devs would regret making an AI that made combat something human players dread. Maybe a ramping AI that gets smarter the longer the war lasts.

So they still haven't fixed the AI with regard to war.

Question to people in this thread... How would you feel if the AI completely smashed you in war without any cheating? The Verge just did an article about how game designers make AI "fun" for gamers not the hardest. It would seem that modern AI's could be trained to do Civ combat very easily...

Anyone asked Firaxis for a new patch?

I was thinking since Hunt Valley, Md (Firaxis home office) is somewhat close to me. Has anyone considered asking Firaxis for a patch to address some of the issues our coders and modders here have encountered? What about an Indiegogo campaign to cover the cost? $50 donation? I'll bet...
