You can just queue up move orders and execute them immediately at the start of each turn by pressing the next action hotkey. Map the hotkey to your mouse 4 button to make it even easier.
The last patch also added a delay to AI actions, so combined with the hotkey it's really not an issue.
Some of the cultures and world wonders benefit from faith and religious spread.
In my last game I've picked the Aksumites followed by the Teutons and after world wide conversion which happened fairly quickly, I got 150 gold per Aksumite Obelisk. Quite powerful throughout the whole game.

The ability to levy an entire army and basically turn every unit into a hero (+10 combat strength) is broken. Combine her with a great general and it's +15. I'm suprised the OP doesn't even mention this. Getting a guaranteed city state is nice but nothing game breaking. An army buffed by Himiko...
Honestly, spies are nice to have but completely inconsequential for actually winning the game except for the guy who protects the Pingala city. If I would skip them entirely I could probably win a few turns faster actually (but I don't because I like stealing things) xD
The "Incite" option doesn't work and barb camps don't spawn unique units. I only use UI mods like Sukritact's Simple UI Adjustments, Better Report Screen and a few more. Is it a mod conflict or is the game mode not working properly?
The trick is to settle cities at the edge of a desert. That's how you get the improved growth for more population (= more tiles = more production), good production from lumber mills because they don't get the -1 nerf and there's no need to waste production on stuff like libraries. Just buy them...
If you don't have any good spots for preserves, their addition to the game actually has an adverse effect on you.
Unlocking preserves through Mysticism increases the amount of districts you need to unlock district discounts. But unlike other specialty districts, building preserves doesn't help...
Maui can create 100% monopolies by creating unique, one of a kind luxuries. I get +50 gold per turn on T40 from monopolies (probably two 100% monopolies = 2*25 gpt).
Keshig and Saka both upgrade into Field Cannons (which wasn't the case in vanilla afaik) and the civilopedia in-game says they are Ranged. I've never looked at the XML files. Looks like an oversight then, yeah.
Keshig, Maryannu and Saka are all part of the Ranged promotion class and receive production bonuses from policy cards like Agoge etc. It's not a bug. The Ranged Cavalry class was scrapped a long time ago because their ranged promotions always became useless after you upgraded them into cavalry...
I agree there's still room to improve your early game strategy against these early rushes, especially unit placement. But to be fair, I don't like this sort of early game either.
I don't want to be forced to rush Archery and spam units. I like having options, for example going for a religion.
If...
Shrines extend the life span of heroes, even while they are alive. I noticed this when I couldn't reach the last district location with Hercules but the finished shrine added 4 turns to his current life span.
He is definitely my kind of guy. Chasing district discounts has never been more...
The problem is that the AI basically gives you diplo favor for free in the early game and a few turns later you can sell everything for a quite impactful amount of money. It's bad balancing. Of course, I can choose to ignore the cheap prices in early game but I like to have at least 30 diplo...
I restarted my game because apparently, faith is the most important resource in this game mode. Without Earth Goddess and Holy Site spam, the mid game is just boring because you cannot revive your heroes (850-1000 faith per hero).
