I believe I have read elsewhere on this site that the AI knows the location of all the resources at the start of the game. However your strategy is sound, find iron ASAP.

With all the open land available that early warriors discovered, I set about pumping out settlers and expanding before the Egyptians got there. I was successful at grabbing the western half of the continent. With so much expansion I suddenly realized I was following the same path as my GOTM42...

I always build an army first. But that’s due to the fact that I have only once gotten a MGL before Chivalry.:cry: However, if I was blessed with a MGL in the AA I would most certainly consider building the FP with it. Really, what good is an army of slow moving swords once you’re in the MA?
