It took me a real long time to get my ranking above the "less than plesant" rankings. Buck up, keep practicing, and eventually, you'll start to creep up those rankings. During the game, you can check your status by hitting F9 (i think) it will show you your civ demographics and current score...

I usually play as the japanese. Don't know why, but I do. Recently, I've been playing ar the carthos as well. I don't like playing against them, and it's the only way I can ensure I won't get them. Of course, i don't pick my opponents either. I want some suprises...

I know this would never happen, but... Rather than a civ IV, I'd like to see a new civ II. Now that computers are faster, and ram is better, we have mega RAM, more memory, etc. It would be great to see them simply take The perfect civ II base, push the end further, additional science...
