His greatest crime imo is that he turned Civilization into a board game, where ai "backstabs" you when you are "winning" because ai also wants to "win" which eliminates the concept of immersion and ruined the game for me. This was intentional and this was his idea if I remember correctly.
You really pissed me off today, CivFanatics... I do have a sense of humor I assure you, but jeeez since were all waiting for the expansion so much, that was kinda cruel ;(
200$? I spent about 300$ on a new videocard and about 80-90 $ on the game (and I wanted to spend more, much more ), played about 100 hours and figured out I actualy enjoy reading civfanatics more than playing the game. :D
What bugs me most is that I don't really care about winning. I care more about immersion. In civ IV I have the feeling I'm building an empire and like in the real life I have friends I can rely on and enemies that hate me. Winning in civ1-civ4 has never been an ultimate goal for me.
In CiV you...
"- AI is now capable of denouncing friends (aka, backstabbing) and added backstabbing info to diplo overview screen."
This is ridiculous, they didn't change a thing it seems...
Edit: maybe I'm being a bit harsh, have to test it for myself first.
