Did you ever get a response on this? I also have these issues and, to me, they make the game too buggy to play. I don't know how strong my units are, trading with the AI is ridiculous, and the corruption calculations are completely off.
I don't think your post should be forgotten! I agree with you. Religions should be more dynamic. They should not only spread, they should also shrink and even die out. Ancient religions (i.e. ones no longer followed in reality), in my opinion, should not have to die out (merely because they have...
I also watched the progress bar not increasing. I sent about 6 colonists over the course of many turns into a village for education. Later, when I realized I had no colonists at all, I looked and saw that the progress bar was full...but no colonists. I waited another 20 turns...still nothing...
What difficulty level have you been playing at? I've only tried Explorer and had exactly the same experience. The Spanish were killing me with culture...but then my 5 canons took their 4 cities....
i have this problem on my laptop that merely has a "mobile intel 4 series express" video card. But my other laptop, with Radeon x700, has no problems. Perhaps ya'll have the same video card?
I play RoM 2.8 on Windows 7 with no problems (although it does seem to run slower). I don't recall having to do anything special to get RoM to work.
Do you need to set it to 'Run as Administrator'? My game machine is at my office, so I can't check it now to see if I've got it set up that way....
I cleared my cache and myGUI issue was fixed (so far). Hold down your shift key as the game loads and you will see "uncached" in the small text, and hopefully that will fix your problem.
Good luck.
In my early game, only chariots had missing UIs. Once I started building musketmen, ALL my units started to have missing or incorrect UIs.
I'm running Windows XP (with latest updates), English version. This bug is in BTS 3.19 RoM 2.7 (not 2.71).
The log files are attached.
Any solution...
My chariots create 2 game problems. 1) when they are selected, the game becomes very slow. 2) the interface changes. I am not able to control them normally through the GUI, although keyboard commands work as normal.
I saved this game with the problem. In this specific turn, one of my chariots...
I went back, deleted the entire RoM folder, installed 2.6Full and then patched to 2.63. Now the game CTD even more often than more!
I suppose now I should try uninstalling the entire game and installing everything from the beginning?
I updated RoM 2.5 to (2.62 and then to) 2.63 and now the game crashes after 2-6 turns. When I reload the last saved game, it crashes again after a few turns. I doubt it's a memory issue since it's happening in an early game with only a "large" map.
I've attached the log files.
