Sounds like you somehow turned debug mode on. go to "C:\users\(username)\Documents\MyGames\Sid Meier's Civilization 5" and open your config.ini find this section and make sure it is set to 0: ; Set to 1 to activate the debug panel DebugPanel = 0

i like CiV, and yes, I've played every Civ game.

To the OP: Why do you feel the need that someone must pay for you perceive as a bad game. Maybe these beta testers simply don't agree with you that the problems are that bad, or maybe they made suggestions to fix these problems, but their bug reports were low priority to other fixes...

And you're basing your "real slow" judgement on what? That we haven't had a "major" patch in the few weeks the game has been out? That's not "real slow". That's normal. They can't just hand off the patch to some programmer, tell him to fix it in a couple days, and then throw it in the wild...

And WoW is never balanced. The classes are constantly being rebalanced as new content is added.

city states definitely have their uses, but you don't have to use them. If your style is not to, then by all means don't use them. That's one of the great things about City states. Using them optional, but there are benefits to doing so.

There are those people, and that's fine. I think what most of us get tired of seeing, however, are those people who post "crap" about the game being the worst game ever, and unplayable, and completely broken, and worthless, and an insult to everyone who ever played civ, and a complete ruining...

My god, you guys really are the biggest pessimists in the universe. Saying that he will work on CivV as long as he is able to doesn't mean his job is on the line. That's quite an assumption to make. When I read that, I took it to mean that he plans to be working on Civ 5 for a long time...

Agreed. I've played 3 games to conclusion so far, and started several games that I didn't finish for various reasons. But that's the same way I played Civ4. If late in the game I feel that my winning goal has become very unlikely, I may start a new game. I will be playing Civ 5 for months to...

People complain that the game isn't perfect upon release, but I bet those are the same people who would have complained had the game been delayed until next year to make it "perfect". Personally, I'd rather play it as it is now, a good game, knowing a future patch will make it better than...
