So basically this thread is about bashing Civ5 because it is to American? Isn't the American way to smile at your face and slowly take over your land behind your back? George Washington does the same thing in the game. He is your friend one second and then BAM! he takes out the rest of your Civ...
Does anyone or is anyone working on a WWII scenario? I have found that the WWII scenario from CivII was a ton of fun and would love to see one done with Civ5. Thanks.
I do find escorting settlers across oceans very enjoyable since you don't know when the Naval unit with 50 movement is going to drop in a take it from the shadows lol. Destroyers are amazing :crazyeye:
Yeah, they are fixing this in the next patch thank goodness. I would say though that your world is in trouble. He could probably do a lot of damage with that unit early on. Get those defenses up and ready to get hammered.
I keep getting loaded in South America no matter what Civ I play. I have found though that it is the game picking the best start location based on what the Civ needs, however if you download one of the True Start Location(TSL) mods from this site you can fix your problem quickly.
Well, honestly I didn't think about the units being that strong for that long of a time. However, that still means that the bonus you are getting only allows you to be able to convert those barbarians that you kill to units and upgrade them. That is all well and good, but you have to pay for...
I think their bonuses are useless and should increase perhaps every era. Barbarians are great to have if you wanna rush the beginning, but when did Germany really make its mark in the world. Yeah... industrial era bonuses are needed.
Oh... don't get me wrong I loved Civ 4, but Civ 5 is better. I just think the leaders should be able to advance technologically in Civ 5. They took a step back in that perspective. It would be great to see Alexander roll in in a Ferrari just to prove that he still has an affinity for horses
I agree with you on this. With the hardware people are running these days and what they were going for there should be no reason this couldn't be possible. I say revisit the good things they took from the old Civ games and improve on them. Not scrap the whole idea and start over.
It has been my experience that if there isn't a wonder in the cities that you should probably just get a settler ready and occupy the same spot. You can then build the appropriate happiness buildings to help get you on your feet or buy them like I do. That way the city has growing room while...
Naval Units will get a bonus to production or possibly an upgraded harbor of some type, kind of like the Russians getting that Krepost. They will probably also get an unique sea unit.
Personally the 1UPT system really isn't that bad. It makes you have to be more strategic with what you are sending across a continent or ocean. I like it.
