G'day Elonin, I would go Civ 5 with expansions over vanilla Civ 6. Following on from the versions you have played you will be very disapointed in vanilla Civ 6 (and to most extent Civ 5 but at least you have expansions to improve). The vanilla CIv 6 features as interesting as they sound are...
Wouldn't it be rather simple for the settler to have a big red cross or some visual on all squares that would break your promise so when choosing a settler spot you know what what you are committed to and maybe a counter showing how many turns you have to wait before the agreement is over...
Sounds promising I like that implementation kinda like cities/regions such as catalonia going for independence. Just hope it isn't over the top like the initial civ 3 flips
I agree about potential balance issues and since most features are simple rehashes of previous features that suffered this I hope they have learnt from the past. Civ 3 brought in city culture flipping of cities and it was a debacle initially and ultimately removed, players hated their city...
Could not disagree more, if advertised features of any product do not work I do not know how you could consider that reasonable (one simple example the AI cannot use an airforce). If you bought a TV and it could not display one particular channel until 4 years of updates would you consider that...
This has to be the most absured quote I have ever heard, you had no expectation that a game you paid full price for would be complete and tough luck to those that did? My god no wonder they get away with releasing such flawed crap, completed products are not personal standards rather reasonable...
Im sure in Civ 1&2 they were partisans that would pop up after you capture a city in later eras, another feature that disappeared for no apparent reason!
You are right it was the map type, I usually use shuffle for the map type as I find the unknown fun but that now removes the other options which is why they went missing on me. Cheers
I may be confusing my versions here but has the option to set the climate and age of the planet that have always been present when setting up a civ game been removed in last patch? Im sure I recall them in original civ6 but also maybe going back to 5 in my head? Noticed I could not select them...
I can only give you 1 reason, civ 6 is newer.
Outside that Civ6 is simply broken/unfinished at this point. EVen though I personally dont like the 1UPT if it didnt cripple the Ai warfare I would at least be able to enjoy it.
This is how it was when the culture feature was first brought in in Civ 3 and the Paris analogy is exactly when they used when selling it! Each city had a breakdown of nationalities that were essentially 100% the original culture and then slowly change the longer you held them. Going to war...
Agree completely, another feature lost from previous games (early civs had a turn count down to when the space ship would land so you knew exactly how drastic you needed to be to stay in the game). I lost a game and I am still not sure what happened just one turn the loss screen appeared. I...
Not sure I have never really gotten into the modding world but from what I have read the right game code or something is yet to be released to allow the full modding tools.
I went to try and buy civ2 for a bit of nostalgia (cant find my old floppy disk!) but not available on any legal download...
