Darn, this could have been good for the space armada mod, but without civ colours it's a bit too specialist. The alpha blending probably looks OK in game because of the black background and the death is cool too. Though in the death animation there is a bar of grey at the top of the frame. not...
PLEASE! don't make the explosions any bigger! they are perfect. An attack B with all the smaller guns firing seperatly (while the main guns reload) would be best, rather than have all guns fire at once. Or fire main guns one at a time, so:
attack A, left main guns,
attack B, smaller guns...
Sounds good, I played a CivII scenario once called up the deadly Boot which was an italy centered scenario covering the allied invasion of italy. That'd make a good scenario for Civ III, very focused scale though. :)
I'm glad you found a use for some of my old units. which ones did you use?
Futhark is just one variation of the runic alphabet, representing the first few letters of in the same way that Alpha-beta (alphabet) does. There are other examples of runic alphabets, and earlier examples of "runelike" images which may have been part of a pre-writing (magic pictures). It is...
Wow! Thanks Guagle, I didn't think it'd be possible to recover any of the zip file so I've not looked at this thread for a month or so.
It's great to see that all my work was not wasted and I'm happy to hear that people have enjoyed the early progress. :D
I'm unemployed at the moment but...
You'd be better off leaving them out.
Solar sail ships are very slow, and totaly incapable of interstellar travel (they could try to travel to a different system but it'd take hundreds of years).
For this reason, the only time I say a solar sail ship on ST was on DS9 when Sisco and his son...
Route finding is one of the most memory hungry actions the AI can undertake. Yes it is a balancing act as to whether you can spare the cost of not having sea trade but it is deffinately a good choice.
You get a similar thing with some other games, for example real time stratagy games can be...
Ha! Remember, in britain we don't allow people to have guns. This has the double effect of reducing violent gun crime and making the likleyhood of a vigilante uprising impossible. :)
To be honest england is about the most stable country in the world, countries much more likley to have civil...
Cool, You finaly got around to adding custom textures. :) It adds quite a bit of time to making units (especialy if you want to do it realy well) but is certainly worth it.
I'm learning 3dsmax at the moment, I'm probably going to use it to make the models and texture them and then I'll import...
Prety sure there is already a tombraider unit somwhere, it's always a good idea to have a look around first before you request...
I like the russian archer idea, though there are already two different high quality longbowmen available if you count the firaxis one. The archers were a big part...
Excellent, CamJH has done a great indian swordsman too, so you could have a whole new indian civ...
Gives two posabilities, a whole new civ in that area along side ghandi or as a replacement freeing up the war elephant as a resource available unit (I have in the past had it available with...
I've heard it said of DeGaulle at the time that he had a face like a pineapple and the lips of a woman. But then of course the whole of WWII seems to have been about personal insults about other peoples appearance, carried to a genocidal degree...
I like the one on post #9 just needs slightly...
