My game runs fine and then anywhere from 5-15 minutes in it slows wayyyyy down.. then sometimes when i save or alt-tab to the desktop it returns to normal.. It didn't happen before one of the last few patches, and I have a year old Asus gaming laptop so hardware shouldn't be an issue. Any help...

Is it a given that there will not be an expansion pack (a la BTS), or are people just assuming there won't be? I am holding off buying any dlc hoping they will all be included in an expansion sometime in the future, along with different game mechanics, etc.

I'm playing emperor/small/standard settings, and at about 400 AD the game is slowing down incredibly and the quicksave is not working. Anyone else having this problem?

Virtually every time I play I go Pottery first to get either Calendar or Writing. What are the good reasons to not go Pottery? (I play on emperor/immortal, small, random leader, random map.)

Thanks for the tangent. I've almost always tried to make a few large cities when I played Gandhi, but your strategy makes sense and I'm going to try it when I get Gandhi next. (Although it seems like crazy expansion is the generally a good idea in this game?) And put in the ever...

Yeah I know, I didn't even mention that. And he had a bunch of other cities like this too. Not sure what to make of it.

The rule is no cities within 2 spaces of each other, right? Well check out this screen shot--it's clear that some of Gahndi's cities are within 1 space of each other. What is up with this? Does the fact that the Tiruchirapalli is on a single land tile in the middle of water make a difference?

I like the idea behind 1upt, and I feel it could be a good mechanic with modification (2upt?), but one thing that really annoys and frustrates me is that I can't move a great general onto a tile with a worker, but an entire Roman legion has no problem. Really??
