I play Noble and if I get an isolated start I'm normally on top long before Liberalism. When I'm on a crowded continent my early game suffers - I have difficulty balancing early war/tech. If I get to Industrialism then I'm normally 1st/2nd, and that's when my CR III Infantry come into play. ;)

Excellent advice.
I used to play FIN but now consider it 'cheating' - it's way over-powered. Org is my drug of choice, I find my early game without it can be a real struggle. I've started playing random leaders now to learn some new strategies (and not doing very well at it :()
I'm having the same problem with Spiritual, the anarchy's crippling. Need to switch to a war time economy? Need the units now? It's definitely the strongest trait.
Org is another that I find difficult to play without, having yet to learn how keep my economy afloat properly with the others...
