I'm really getting into my 2 pronged jazz crash course from you and Dad . This is one of my favorites that I have been shown in the last week and figured it would be more your style than the last thing I sent you . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mw8De8fXzUQ&feature=youtube_gdata_player . It's just that beautiful tone and the way he bends the notes . How does he do it ? I've heard saxophonists use volume and tone a lot , but not literal bending of pitch .

Yeah , La Garonne . I think he's jealous ." who turned you on to this ?" . He knows jazz is far from my first love and has been trying to get me into it for years . No doubt he will be engaging in an orgy of oneupsmanship shortly .

Verdict is in . He has actually had some exposure to them via Jazz sampler CD's that come with magazines etc . Those tracks , he felt , were a bit radio friendly and verging on background music (which I agree is the ultimate musical sin) . We agreed that was often a reflection of what is chosen for sampler CD's . This track was much more to his liking and we both want more suggestions to investigate further
