what's your favorite and most hated neighbor civ?

I dislike having the Shoshone as my neighbors, precisely because they're fantastic at grabbing the land tiles I want. I also dislike the Celts, Byzantines, amd Ethiopians because of their hordes of religious units. As far as favorites.. I tend to like the warmongers. The Huns, the Zulus, the...

    Favorite type of victory condition?

I still have a preference for Science Victory. After fighting to keep-up with my competitors, micromanaging my city/cities, timing my scientists, etc.. it's rewarding to put the pieces together. That, and it reminds me of the original Civ. Happy memories. :)

9 Most Wanted Civs Post BNW

I'd want the Inuits first, just to have a civ that can make use of lamd that would otherwise be quite suboptimal. The ability to cross ice and get extra food from snow, ice, and snow/ice-adjacent fish or whale tiles would be fantastic.

    3.5.2 No Barb Camps

Ahhh. This sounds like an issue that I fought right after BNW was released. There's a new problem with scenario maps where if there's a civ or a city-state assigned to Team #22, barbarians won't spawn in these games. If you have a civ or a city-state on Team #22, create a duplicate of it (so...

If you had to settle on a Resource...

I'm not sure if this is optimal or not, but if it's early in the game and I'm racing the AI for a key wonder, settling on marble for instant access to the wonder production bonus can be pretty helpful.

how many extra Civs do you guys add on a large map? (if any)

On my last large map game, I put it all the way to 22 civs. This was on a map where about 60% of the tiles were land tiles (instead of the typical 30-40%), so there was enough room for everyone to have a few cities. I bumped up the number of city-states a bit as well. I also hand-picked 11 of...

10 Fixes Needed for the Fall Patch

re: #10: Promoted diplomats should get slightly reduced "introduction" times, allowing a civilization with more advanced spy/diplomatic personnel to better manipulate the World Congress than one with poor personnel development. re: #5: I have a gripe in general with natural wonders...

    Most feared/hated AI civ

As a wonder ho, I don't like running into Egypt or Askia. It seems like Rome has a knack for challenging me on this front as well. If I see any of them, I involuntarily wince a bit.. Oddly, I like seeing Shaka, Atilla, and Alexander, as the game is waaaaaay too peaceful right now.

    Hidden Antiquities Sites?

I've filled the Exploration tree one time. The most useful thing about it? More sites to choose from = more chances to goad the AI towards war. :p

The lady leaders--who is best at what?

Hehe.. Let's see. I skipped Theodora because she really hasn't made that much of an impression on me (although her horse units look pretty cool). She seems like a variant of the Celts' religious style of play. Meh. And I've played with Maria I two times so far. She was in my very first...

City of Light & Aesthetics finisher

I agree, and I love playing France; they're my pick for at least 66% of my games. The City of Light bonus being so wonder-dependent and confined to just one city feels rather weak. On the bright side, I rather like being able to spam chateaus on tiles that would otherwise be lackluster.

The lady leaders--who is best at what?

I do love elephants. On some of my games, I choose which opponents I want to play against. I mean.. these are the folks I'll be spending the weekend with, so I might as well choose the ones I like, right? If a civ has elephants, that's a plus in their column when I'm weighing each civ's pros...

    What resolution is your computer?

Same here. Just a few more folks, and we'll have most of us 16:10ers here. :p

What great people do you sometimes settle on resources?

I like sheep Holy Sites and Academies (and sheep/deer/stone/cattle chateaus). Iron manufactories are megahammer tiles, too.

Q: who is the top 10 Warmongering AI civ??

"Austrian babe?" Are you Max Bialystock, by any chance? (j/k) I feel like I'm competing against my Maw-Maw whenever I see her in my games. Like she'll offer me some Werther's Originals or Choward's Violet candies as part of our trade deals. :p
