I'm pretty sure that in the first few turns of the game you get more gold out of a hut than later on. It certainly seems that way but I can't recall anyone making any reference to an exact mechanism :dunno:

I find the military advisor very useful for spotting stray rival units lurking on the edge of your empire in unexpected places (especially naval units) just before your DOW.
I remember getting Horatio Nelson once as a GG and thinking :hmm: So I moved everything out of a city stuck my most experienced privateer in and found yes you could add a GG to a naval unit. Which then was free to upgrade to a super destroyer with the sentry promotion :thumbsup:
