Yes I posted up that the planet generator has issues. If you find a setting that works great but typically it doesn't work. There are lots of other scripts that work though and are just as good.

Hmm that's odd, it worked fine for myself and a friend. Is this during the install or loading of the game? Try "run as administrator" if it's the install. That's for vista. What OS are you on and 32 or 64 bit?

right now there is a known issue with the new bull dll/bug and OOS errors. You might see some in other versions but it's hard to say where it cropped up. My mod however does work and uses bat mod. If you're just looking for those features anyway. Link is in my sig.

You'll want to put yourself in your routers dmz for civ. It's most likely being caused by a router. If you haven't though try reinstalling the game.

Interference from routers and firewalls can cause this as well. make sure you guys are using the DMZ when playing civ. You are right though, the faster computer should always host.

It's known that directip doesn't work with bug for some reason. However you can play gamespy lobby games afaik but if that doesn't work, try a game of my mod online with gamespy as i know it works. Link is in my sig. Gamespy lobby games are easy and quick to setup an account without any hassle.
