    More historical outcomes?

A relations penalty with Poland, Austria and Germany after a certain date might also be good, Hungary did end up at war with all of of them and that heavily contributed to their collapse. Not sure how well it would work if they are really strong, but on top of a stability penalty it might cause...

    Merchant Republic should be strengthen

I meant for a human player too, it seems like being able to become a merchant republic as nations like Spain is a bit strong, but having say a stability penalty for each non-coastal city would discourage it without a hard coded limit. That said, if there is a plan to add more civs like Sicily...

    Merchant Republic should be strengthen

I agree that the simplest solution would be to restrict the Merchant Republic to specific civs. But having limited city numbers and requiring them to all be coastal would cover that fairly well. There were plenty of times when there was a peaceful handover of power after the death of a king...

    Merchant Republic should be strengthen

Denmark was conquered by Germany, they were a vassal until the death of Otto II in 983. It was only the chaos and rebellions afterwards that allowed them to break free. As for merchant republics, plenty of nations (like France) allied and traded with Muslim powers. I think there should be a...

    Development pre 1.6

Having a certain number of ships would be a good idea, its historical and forces economic development to support such a large navy. There should also be a requirement to have a larger navy than the Ottomans as part of it though, that would add another dynamic if the Ottomans are powerful. For...

    More historical outcomes?

Hungary should be very strong early on. In 1490 they were one of the most powerful nations in Europe, having conquered Austria, Bohemia, Silesia, were interfering in Italy and had pushed back the Ottomans. After that however, they fell into a prolonged period of internal conflict and civil war...

Thanks, it worked. Any idea what I can do to avoid these crashes myself? Also, a suggestion: When a civ collapses they (appear to) split into random Independents. This frequently leads to very weird independent borders. Would it be possible for clusters of cities to go to one single...

    UHV changes for 1.4

Different Ivan, different invasion. Ivan III annexed the city in 1478, burnt a large chunk of the city and killed or deported a lot of the population. Look it up.

Ivan burnt a great deal of the city and massacred a lot of the population.

    UHV changes for 1.4

The popular legend is that they signed a treaty, though there is not much historical documentation. Regardless, the treaty was only signed in the last years of the Republic, after they had already been defeated and were effectively already a vassal of Muscovy. The treaty was a last attempt to...

Hey, I am getting a CTD with this game (soon as I click end turn), it would be great if you could fix it :) That makes some sense, so they are deliberately a short lasting unit just to give Denmark a small boost at the start? I guess I wasn't going for the UHVs so I didn't use them.

What is the logic behind the Danish unique unit Huscarls? They are pretty good, but I found that by the time I could build any I could get longswordsmen. They seem like the shortest lived Unique unit.

    UHV changes for 1.4

For the Novgorod UHV ideas: 1) I think it should just be fur. Whilst it is reasonable to include lots of different resources, I don't think it adds much of a requirement and it is much more difficult to balance. It makes the requirements a bit needlessly complicated. Simply requiring X fur...

    UHV changes for 1.4

I think the Novgorod UHVs should be tweaked a bit; The first one is good, requires you to extend a bit and fight Prussia when they spawn. The second and third ones are too similar. To control 12 fur resources you need 4-5 cities in the hinterlands regions required by the third one anyway...
