    Why, thank you!

Protecting your Bomber runs by engaging your Jet Fighter with their Jet Fighters

OK, that's perfectly logical. But then I don't get what was the point of giving them bombing capability in the first place.

Protecting your Bomber runs by engaging your Jet Fighter with their Jet Fighters

Cool! I've learned something new about unit capabilities today. Speaking of Jet Fighters-- why do they suck so much at bombing? I think in all the hundreds of times I've sent Fighters on bombing raids, they've only hit the target once-- and that wasn't a Jet, it was the prop-engine Fighter...

Protecting your Bomber runs by engaging your Jet Fighter with their Jet Fighters

I always send my Fighter Jets first in the bombardment stack. The idea is to engage enemy Fighter Jets who are set to control the skies, and shoot them down. Sometimes they just drop bombs (and miss), but don't engage the enemy Fighter Jets. Then once my Jet Fighters have gone through, I...

How long have you been playing Civ3 for?

OK, I meant all 9. Thanks for the correction. I'm about to start the Rise of Rome for the umpteenth time. That one takes forever. It seems even longer coming right after the shortest one, Mesopotamia.

How long have you been playing Civ3 for?

Since spring of 2002. I have set 2 goals for myself before moving on to Civ 4: 1) Complete all 7 Conquests.* 2) Win a game on Monarch for once. *I've completed 6 Conquests, but not all on the same computer... and then on this computer something went wrong with my original Conquests disk, so...

    Automating workers

That's why I don't automate for pollution cleanup. It's actually less trouble for me to do it all manually!

    Automating workers

I don't automate for pollution. But by the time pollution becomes an issue, I've got practically all the improvements built that I could want, and all tiles railroaded. This leaves many workers with nothing to do but stand around, lean on their shovels, pick their noses, and chew tobacco. So I...

    Your favorite in game unit.

It is historically accurate. They were not of Carthage, they were Numidian, from elsewhere in North Africa, so they had to be hired as mercenaries, otherwise they would not have been fighting for Carthage. And Carthage is located in modern Tunisia, not Libya.

    War less a war declaration

Oddly, that was exactly the scenario in Clive Cussler's novel Sahara-- A Civil War-era ironclad marooned in the desert. With the mummified corpse of President Abe Lincoln aboard. Yeah it was that weird. To duplicate it in Civ you'd need to mod the game so that you could take the leader prisoner...

    How do you use bombers?

I know, that's my favorite tactic! It's a gas when they send a mega-Stack o' Doom into my territory, and by the time they've crept, one tile at a time, to my frontline cities, I've already bombed them into pulp. And my Cavalry on railroads easily mops up any remnants, and heads back to fortify...

Are there any other women here?

I wasn't aware of that before I joined up here. So far, so good; in the three weeks since I joined, no one has harassed me in any way. I appreciate that and hope it stays that way. It might help to know that I'm a 49-year-old grandmother. (I'm still good-looking though, I haven't even gone gray...
