I tend to keep two archers and 1 spearman in early days.
I then go to Two longbowman and 1 Pikeman.
I adjust as the game progresses and if I"m near an aggressive AI then I usually built a fort right outside of the city limits and stock it with a loaded up to date military unit that can...
I've patched up to the latest (3.19) and upon unzipping "Rise of Mankind" file into the BTS/MOD folder I get the following message and it doesn't complete.

I've started/closed/restarted Steam five times and the automatic download isn't working. I've checked my settings....I'm setup to auto-download any updates.
I just purchased the DLC as well and those started right up, downloaded and installed no problem. Still.....no patch update.
I've been playing for a month or so without any problems with the DX11 option.

Bought the game through Steam......haven't had any issues until today.
I load the game....select which version of DirectX I want to proceed with, and then nothing happens. Game doesn't start, video doesn't start.......nothing.
Must have something to do with the new patch that steam is...

Civ 5 is now at our fingertips and these forums will be rocking for years to come with stories of great honor from all over the world.
Since the announcement of Civ5 came out, I made a decision to avoid any pre-release discussion/news/strategy/etc. It's been a...
Just purchased a new laptop yesterday.......and I'm ready for the release.
Tested it out with Civ IV..........18 Civ (Earth-Huge) Scenario. It runs as fast in 1800 so far as it did on the first turn. I'm ready to go!
