Are you sure? There's a thread over in Creation and Customization giving a tutorial on how to turn Civ4 graphics into Civ5 graphics...which is great news for all of those trying to create the mods needed for Civ4.5

You have it spot on... ...and I feel cheated. If I had known beforehand that Civ5 was going to be for casual gamers I would certainly not have bought it. But they have my money now...are they going to get any more of it...HELL NO! The only saving grace is that it is moddable...but I didn't set...

Probably the best thing you could do is go spend a few dollars on a budget game called Civ4BTS...won't cost you much, quite old now. Play it a few times...try a few mods... ...and then come back and see if you understand what the fuss is about.
