Has anyone else noticed that the autosave intervals are verrryy large in this game? Back in Civ IV, the game autosaved every 4 turns--I thought that was very reasonable, especially considering it saved me from having to redo hours of my life when my game crashed.
But in Civ V, autosaves are...
I miss...
1. Scenarios and Maps (I loved RFC)
2. The music! Civ IV's era specific music was great (Industrial was the best imo)
3. Map trading
4. Worker automation
5. Religion
6. Civics...to an extent. The new social policy tree is really cool, but I liked being able to switch gov'ts...
BtS was definitely the best iteration of Civ to date. Even if you forget about the huge amount of options, gameplay, random events, etc that it introduced, the scenarios that were shipped with the game ALONE would have made it the best.
Interesting, Napoleon was phased out very early in my game, killed off by a combination of Hiawatha and Rakhmahaeng (sp?). In fact, in my game, Darius has been THE warmonger, so far taking out Augustus and Ramses, in addition to building a loaddd of wonders.
Thanks so much! I was taking a totally different, Civ IV esque approach where I would build a large empire, create lots of units, invade, and annex everyone. I guess I was playing this like Civ IV.
Some posts to add:
* Map Replay: When the game is over, I always loved going into the map replay and seeing how my empire and others grew. Not any more :( That was a really helpful feature, as well as interesting because you could see what was going on in those 2000 years in that other...
Oh wow really? I didn't know that at all...
Were the Civ III and Conquests scenarios also fan made? I mean, if so, then I no longer have that big of a gripe with Firaxis about this. (although they COULD have made scenarios and maps internally... :P)

My GPU is below minimum, so I'm running the whole thing on minimum and low settings... :(
native resolution is 1650, but due to frame rate issues, I've had to drop it to 1024. I tried leaders on medium and the sound began to go...
