    Tried with merchant house, it was still requiring stone in the city screen. Craftsman says on the guild screen and civics screen that it will also allow with gold, but in the city screen it required stone. Now stone and wood are a lot more scarce in the current version than gold...

    Hi! I haven't been able to hurry production with gold in any of my recent games - I chased different civics that should allow that, and adopted them, but neither worked. I've been accumulating lots and lots of gold but it's been a bit useless... is this a bug or am I missing something?

    If helpful, I noticed the AI did clear a few lairs in mid/late game, but usually only after I had killed the first 1-2 barbarians on it.

    I also tried messing with the values on the Full of Resources map script, but that didn't seem to have any effect at all. I'll try that XML pointed in the other thread to see if makes more impact.

    Thanks @Felis catus ! I can manage the barbarians, mostly I don't want the AI civs to be killed too fast. I found out that increasing the difficulty helps with that (gives them more bonuses), but I'll check that other thread as well.

    Mine doesn't. Now THAT's curious. Base Civ4 still has those 4 files as you named them, but I believe the patch has unpacked them. But they are nowhere to be seem inside BtS directory. I'm wondering on another question, also. Unpacking those files causes the game to take longer to load, but...

    Valkrionn, fpaks were actually removed from the vanilla Civ since patch 1.5 or something around that, and neither Warlords nor BtS used it. But yes, it makes more sense to believe it a hardware issue.

    Gotta love the new Fey art, really adds some flavour... but has any thought been given to re-balancing the Fey? The combination Summer Court/Fellowship of the Leaves was kindda overpowering when I tried it, and Eternal Court wasn't worth the trouble at all... Has anything been modified in WM9b?

    It does take noticeably longer to load the mod now, but it seems the only way to play. Now I'm curious that no one else has had this kind of problem with Win XP before. Has the OS been abandoned so fast, or was it a hardware problem instead? That would surprise me since this is a brand new laptop.
