Could mac gaming be any more pathetic?

AIs in BTS will join wars and gang up on a player. This is a well documented addition to the game. If a civ is being hit by one or two civs, then a third civ will be much much more likely to join in, since naturally the first civ will be stretched very thin.

It depends on what difficulty level you are using. At most levels in vanilla Civ 4 and Warlords, the AI pays virtually nothing for upgrades (it gets ~70% off). In the expansion BTS, the AI pays significantly more for upgrades. BTS' AI is a big improvement so the AI cheats less.

Are you telling me that the mac version in-game updater downloads the PC patch? If I'm understanding you correctly, I'm inclined to believe Aspyr is actually their best effort at spelling "aspire." They are completely inept.

BTS is, and has always been, very stable on the PC. Some minor balance issues and a problem with espionage notwithstanding, it's been fine. Those balance issues were fixed in an unofficial patch within weeks of the game's release, and have since been fixed by two official patches. Why is...

That isn't giving you an option, it is just telling you what happened as a result of the hurricane... The other scenario does not seem like a bug, only that the player lacks a requisite tech. I think a patch should address that.

if you have allied units stacked with privateers, they are ignored and privateers are attacked. no war.

You cannot run Warlords or vanilla from the BTS CD. Need to keep your old CD's if you want to revert to a game without corporations, espionage, etc.

Spies can cripple civs without war, especially on marathon and epic speeds. Poison supplies, destroy culture buildings, etc can all really mess up the AI. AI not so good at using espionage, though.

edit: nevermind, i just verified that spies can complete missions successfully but still be caught.

Don't pay attention to the numbers. Though their review of Warlords is terrible. I watched the video review...the guy has no idea what is going on. Did he not notice the expansion has...nothing in it? Gamespot's reviews are bad. See Solver's on Apolyton CS, he goes into great depth on BTS.

i played a bit with this tonight. seems a big improvement. great work. I'll play a full game later but this seems like a big step for BetterAI.
