    Civ VI turn processing times

OP. If you post your save file that you are getting 40-80 seconds on, I will do a benchmark for you. My specs: i7-8700K o/c at 4.7Ghz 16GB DDR4 GTX 1070 SSD Windows 10

Do you think the patch improved the game?

Aye, I expect you are right; I expect there is lots of middle-management. I worked for a national company a few years back; it was agile, responded to change and did things within weeks/months. They were bought out by a multi-national; it took years to make decisions, years to agree stuff and...

Do you think the patch improved the game?

Indeed. Star Citizen devs are good at communicating. Frontier Developments are pretty good too. My guess is the devs are under the thumb and aren't allowed to discuss ideas/issues with customers. Subsequently, I've not bought any DLC and have abandoned Civ 6 for now until (if) the awful AI...

    Tech cost mods

Thanks for the info PYITE. I've downloaded Wolf2001's "Slower research per era" mod and looked at the SQL file. UPDATE Technologies SET Cost = Cost*1 WHERE EraType ='ERA_ANCIENT'; UPDATE Technologies SET Cost = Cost*1.1 WHERE EraType ='ERA_CLASSICAL'; UPDATE Technologies SET Cost =...

    CIV6 false advertisement by Fireaxis?

OP. I bought the £40 base game of Civ 6 and will buy the DLC only when it is on 50% sale. Even if I have to wait a couple of years. I wouldn't be too happy if I ended up paying more for the "full package" than individual items. As a general personal rule, I don't buy anything unless I know...

    Its Boring

It's easy enough to steam roll Deity, even with mods.

    Its Boring

Ditto. Civ 6 has a lot of potential, but I won't be buying any DLC until the base game is enjoyable and a challenge. Like many peeps have said, I've stopped playing Civ 6 for now until AI is improved and/or modding tools are released. I'm trying Gal Civ 3 for my 4X fix. It's quite good, it...

    Next patch anticipation thread

Thanks for the heads up. I hope the AI gets a major update. I've stopped playing Civ 6 for now until the next patch.

    How to spread religion?

Don't worry about the AI whining. They are like toddlers in that respect. "You did this... WAHHHH". "You didn't do this.. GHHAHHH". "I want that.... GAHWAHAAA" etc. Just do what you need to do and don't worry about the AI. They'll get over it.

Do you use custom city names?

I do for the cities I settle. Sometimes I will name it depending on surrounding terrain or resources, if it's near the coast or to match the function of the city. Examples include: Rohan - if near lots of horses Mint - If near gems Seahaven - if on the coast Oxford - If going to be a campus...

    Rome's extra, somewhat hidden bonus

Some players might use builders/legion to repair intentionally pillaged tiles to get "free" resources. I only pillage tiles I'm not planning to use.

    Finally got Civ6

I keep all cities I take unless it is a rubbish one, or I am late game and cleaning up. Wide seems to work better than tall in Civ 6. Re "Keep / Raze" pop-up, I save the game before I choose. As I don't often raze, it's not a big time sink. It took me ages to stop focusing on the tech race...
