i came back to these forums trying to find out if they had fixed this game yet, and apparently they haven't. i highly disliked civ 5 due to content and performance issues, and will not be buying any expansion/dlc or civ 6.

yeah just beat a deity game the other day taking over my continent and then never getting declared on from the runaway ai, liz, on the other continent. she was in future era a few techs before i was and never even made apollo program before i escaped to space.

the issue is that they are not addressing the core of the problem: the design.

yes, i agree this was a marketing trick. i think my dog would do better at civ 5 than greg did.

I have the same experience with DX10/11 mode: constant crashing. Switching to DX9 has made the game a lot more stable.

in civ 5 any leader can play as the romans could in civ 4. horsemen are the new praetorians.

Yes it helps on a city basis (not your whole empire) if it is in the radius of that city. You can see this by hovering over the production for your marble city when a wonder is in production.

no you don't have to. you can see your happy resources if you hover over the happy icon on the top bar.

so far i've only settled on food resources, and it actually has removed the food bonus from the tile from 3 down to 2. but since food isn't usually a problem in this game, it wasn't a big deal.

just kill them, problem solved.

well said. the arguments for civ 5 diplo have all included the AI throwing diplo out the window since they are "trying to win the game." thus i don't see the point to diplomacy in civ 5.

Yeah, actually strategic view crashes even more often than regular view for me, and I have about middle of the road specs.

for me, there is now no point in playing "diplomatically", and it sucks all the fun out of the game since there are much better war games out there than civ.

But hey, the leaders all speak their own language now so thats awesome right? Too bad they have removed so many diplomatic features.
