Apart from the fact that I hardly ever see Barbarians after ancient times, I wouldn't want to see Barbarians upgrade. To me Barbarians represent uncivilised human encampment, which by that definition would never advance technologically and would continue living for the next 6000 years as they...
I'd also suggest that AI not accepting a gpt deal with a player that the AI is annoyed with is perfectly logical and not even a programming oversight and certainly not a bug, I can imagine refusing it myself.
If I actually owned PTW and was playing another human that I had fought with or was...
"add something of ur own to the trade"
See civddict's earlier post, cities only go under threat, as a gift or part of peace (which is really under threat).
The only positive thought on this starting location is that at least you will have no fear of global warming, just hope you've got some uranium and bring on the nukes! :)
That's pretty poor that they didn't respond, at least to say that they won't offer money, part of the motivation for those of us still in the dark ages (56K modem) to by PTW is for all the mods, so they're making money out of you, the least they could do is be polite.
Last game I wanted on release was delayed for two months, one month at a time, so if we see PTW here before Xmas I'll be amazed and astounded. Those EB monkeys [k]no[w] nothing about release dates unfortunately. :(
Raijer - 200 pings is a loose reference to 200 millisecond response time when using the ping utility. It's common in most internet games and is an indication of network speed between the server machine and the player, it is not always accurate unfortunately.
Fred - Check out the Graphics Mod...
I think a powerplant is a single effect, so it's not really a matter of using one or the other.
If you already have a powerplant then build another type of powerplant I'm pretty sure the old one is replaced.
I'm surprised you haven't seen it before sabo, playing on a map with that many cities you're a more dedicated civ'er than I (just don't have the patience). I guess the AI needs a pretty decent advantage to start looking like they have some tactical skill and only I can play badly enough for that...
I went for terrain out of those options, a small force can hold off a much larger one with a simple line of mountains, often the AI won't attack because of the bad odds, I've had three units hold off a stack of 10 because the AI wanted to get to the city behind and wasn't willing to lose units...
Not to rain on your parade but I've had Egypt on Emperor level user bombers from a carrier to attack stacked French units (my allies) while it was landing troops.
Unless you're saying it exclusively targetted units, of those Egyptian bombers only 1/4 were used to hit units, the rest went after...
This has got to be bogus, has anyone heard of this facility before? Do the units fight a war automatically, invade cities, perhaps this is just an autofortify option?
Most useful: Infantry, as a peaceful player I never feel safe until I've got infantry, after that the AI can make all the threats it wants.
Least useful: Catapult, sure explorer is bad as is the privateer but I don't go to sea much and I don't even build many scouts so the catapult I find least...
