  • Thanks, Cheezy. I probably would blow a gasket if he used Popper as a defense. Hey my mobile in browser mode is really tiny and when I tried to answer this VM before, I think I unfriended you -- I mean I noticed you're not on my friend list. Sorry if I did.
Not as such, but my school specialises in Early Modern and Modern history, so it's all 1500-present by default. Finding myself leaning towards American colonial history- taking two next semester, with my eye on a couple more next year- but nothing formal.
Yeah, I kinda screwed it up the first time by studying architecture, which is pretty bougie, so it was less horizon-expanding and more just plain intimidating. Little better-situated this time, I think.
I can certainly understand how it would wear on you. I suppose part of it may that my social life revolves around the university, which is by nature less provincial than the rest of the town.
It's not all that bad, really, just a bit provincial. But, then, my hometown is even more provincial (not to mentioned more economically depressed), so maybe I've got a skewed perspective.
Always! Work is the curse of the drinking class. Pick out some Ewen Maccoll, from one (half) Scot commie he still inspires.
Of course Lagavulin inspires as well!
Okay, Cheezy. Start a thread on your Glasgow experience "An American Red in Caledonia" or something. Itching for news and pics!
In the Old Country, now, eh? Post pics when you can.
Alba gu bragh!. I will celebrate your return to school by drinking some 12 year scotch.
    Best of luck.
Yo Cheez, what is your opinion of the ISO? There are several chapters in Texas and I was thinking of putting some work in.
Thanks, Cheezy. I know a Catholic priest who shares our view on Jesus. He's aldo a Red. :)

edit: then there's scot commie Ewen Maccoll's Ballad of a Carpenter.
Hey, Cheezy, what would you consider a socialist republic today? I myself can only give you a partial answer, as we have not had a quorum on the subject: Viet Nam, Cuba, DPRK, China, maybe others. Things have changed since 1959. I Would like to know what you think. Also, why does CPUSA endorse Obama?
