Russia's last heavy aircraft carrying missile cruiser in service. Built and tested during the final years of the Soviet Union, she ended up becoming the flagship of the new Russian Navy. With the mission of providing air cover at sea for the maritime fleet, Kuznetsov carries a squadron of Su-33 interceptors for air defense, as well as anti-submarine helicopters, anti-ship missiles, and air defense weapons.
