To reflect real-world changes, bombers now only operate from airports.
Instead, their range has been doubled.
Fighters are now categorized as carrier-based fighters and airfield-based aircraft. Each unit's upgrades change, and certain units (Zero, MiG-25, F-35, and future-era aircraft) automatically switch between airport and carrier-based aircraft.
Unit designs have also been updated, and the corresponding Civilopedia entries have been updated accordingly.
